Description: Design was borne of the most basic and economical forms possible - the box. Not just a box, but a box which could be spanned by off-the-shelf lumber. So this limited width to 30' or so. Turns out it would be 300' long, but ok, let's see what happens if we play with it a bit. Maybe ramp it up at 1:20 (still legal and no hand rails required). Elevate it. Perforate it. Tilt it. Cantilever it... a slightly twisted, linear experience.
The side walls would be 30' high trusses enabling the cantilever. Inside I visualized the interior being wrapped in a warm wood - sides, roof, floor - and the stacks stepping up and up until ultimately culminating in a reading room at the end window perched 40' above the ground!
