Description: The site is on the top of a beautiful hill covered with mature oaks. During the programming phase of the project I visited the site often and befriended many of these majestic trees. My solution was a relaxed 'V' shape footprint that could be integrated with the existing vegetation with no cost to my new friends.

I chose a building form and width that allowed me to warp offices around a service core. The result of which every office has a window into the lush dense oak canopy that surrounds the building. Inside, a two story serpentine wall organizes the entry and core and provides and softens the experience of moving through the building.

We commissioned an artist out of Ventura Beach, California to do glass panels along the balcony. The panels have a theme that complements both the building and the department’s purpose wonderfully.
